RE: Future Fire Hall Site -— Pitt River Road

As a result of the Building and Protection Committee report to Council April 2, 1973
and my subsequent report to Committee of Council May 14th, 1973 I wish to report
that I have negotiated the purchase of the property at 2225 Pitt River Road for a
future fire hall site. The full purchase price of the property will be $30,000.00

and we can obtain occupancy in early July.

I explained to Council earlier in Committee that the purchase of the property at this
time would serve a twofold purpose in that it provides us with a future fire hall site
and in the interim the house on the property can serve to house the drug counselling

service that we have presently underway financed by Provincial Government grant.

There is an existing mortgage on the Property which we may assume thereby reducing
the amount of cash outlay at the present time, however, this point has not yet been
negotiated. At the present time I would like a resolution of Council authorizing the
purchase of the Property at 2225 Pitt River Road for the sum of $30,000.00 and that

funds for the purchase be provided from the Tax Sale Lands Reserve Account.
