Coquitlam Recreation Office on llednesday, February 15th.
In attendance were Alderman 14ike Farnworth, Alderman Bill Stewart and
K. Janna Taylor, Parks and Recreation Director.
Also in attendance were George Richards, President Port Coguitlam
Ninor Hockey .

1'linor Hockey Annual Vinter Carnival

Richards met with the Parks and Recreation
Committee to discuss their annual wind-up
carnival which is to take place Friday, March
30th, Saturday, March 31st and Sunday, April
1st. In previous years they have held their
wind-up in conjunction with the P.C.A.A.A. All
Sports Carnival and, in doing so, have not had
to pay the rental charges for the ice. This
year, however, P.C.A.A.A. has chosen not to hold
the All Sports Carnival and, therefore, the
Minor Hockey Association would still like to be
able to continue with their wind-up and have the
charges waived. It should be noted that, prior
to the P.C.A.A.A. annual All Sports Carnival,
Minor Hockey historically had a winter wind-up
carnival in which they received the ice free of

Recommendation

That the Minor Hockey Association be permitted
to hold their wind-up carnival on Friday, t1arch
30th, Saturday, March 31st and Sunday, April 1st,

Helen Fitch has been providing news releases in
the local newspaper every other

contest has been advertised for week,
the 1984 Hay
Day. Things are moving along very well
everything seems to be in place at this and
time.
It is the recommendation that we remain with
the existina float as we did last year as it
appears to be in good shape.
