SUBJECT: School Zones at Hastings and Patricia -
Public Works Committee, March 15th, 1983

RECOMMENDATION:

_ That Council confirm the existing school zones’-on
Patricia Avenue from McRae to Hughes Place and on Hastings
Street from Hastings Place to the North City boundary, both of
which are not now included in the Traffic Bylaw.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

As a result of a question raised in Council, we-have
investigated and find that the above two school zones exist
with 30 km/h speed zones but apparently have never: been
included in the Traffic Bylaw. Westwood School is unfenced and
Furthermore is adjacent to a Jynior High School which generates
some additional traffic morth on Hastings Street. ct
