Band Administrator, Moricetown, BC

The Council of the Wer’suwet'en community of Moricetown, 35 km
north of Smithers, is secking an energetic and business oriented
Administrator with strong supervisory skills to manage an annual
budget in the $5 million range and manage and inspire a staif of 30+.

Moricetown has a total Band membership of (600, of whom 900
currently live in the community. Il is situated on Highway #16 in the
beautiful Bulkley Valley, where summer and winter recreational
opportunities abound.

There is a modem wood finger joint manufacturing plant run in
partnership with Canfor Ltd. employing 60+ year round, a logging
business employing a further 15, a new $6 million school/community
hall/feast hall/office complex, a Health station, Fire Hall, maintenance
yard, full community infrastructure, and tourist camping and fishing
facilities.

The position of administrator is complex and muttifaceted, and requires
a well organized individual with good people skills. Training in
accounting and/ar business administration, computer fluency, and
contract management skills are prerequisites. Previous experience ina
similar position, knowledge of the Wet'suwel'ed culture, knowledge of
government funding requirenients, knowledge of the foresiry/re-
manufacturing industry would all be considered as assets for thi
position. Many of the program funding opportuniiles arc proposal
based, therefore previous successful experlence in proposal writing is
also an asset.
