Kirk, City Administrator Janna Taylor, Paris & Recreation Director Thompson Park - Batting Cage (Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting January 11, 1993 RECOM JENDATION: That PoCo Minor Baseball be granted permission to have a batting cage installed at Thompson Park. That the cost of $3,500 for electrical hookup to the batting cage be taken from Park DCC interest That a letter be sent to PoCo Minor Baseball thanking them for their generous contribution of a batting cage. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS. Port Coquitlam Minor Baseball wish to purchase a new batting cage for Thompson Park. The present cage has not been in use for several years. The estimated cost of the cage is $20,623. The City will tender for the cage and ensure that the cage is constructed and in the correct location. PoCo Minor Baseball will reimburse the city for the cost of the cage. ‘The electrical hookup for the cage is estimated at $3,500 and PoCo Minor Baseball has requested financial assistance from the city. The Parks & Recreation Committee recommends that the City incur the cost of the electrical hookup and that the monies for this be taken from Park DCC interest.
