“mr COUN Mayor and Aldermen February 18th, 1977 R.A. Freeman FEB 2 1 1977 City Clerk Re: Amendments to Zoning By-laws In Process The City's new Zoning By-law has been forwarded to the Department of Highways and Department of Municipal Affairs and we expect that it should be returned to us in two or three weeks. We presently have three By-laws in process that amend the old Zoning By-law and these By-laws received third reading on October 18th, 1976 but have not yet been finally adopted. The three By-laws with which we are concerned rezone property in the Langan-Taylor- Brown area and when they are finally passed would amend the City's old Zoning By-law. Unfortunately, when the City's new Zoning By~law is finally adopted these three rezoning By-laws will, in effect, be wiped out and the property will revert to an RS--2 Zone as no provision has been made in the new By-law to carry this rezoning forward. The solution to the problem is to restate the three By-laws in terms of the new Zoning By-law and then give them final reading after the new Zoning By~law has been passed (and, of course, after the Developers have fulfilled all their commitments and obligations). In order to do this might we suggest that Council give consideration to the following resolutions: "l. That third reading of By-law No. 1469 as given on the Eighteenth day of October, 1976 be rescinded; THAT Section 1 of By-law No. 1469 be amended: i. By striking out the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" and substituting therefor the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1977, No. 1498"; By striking out the Zone designation "RS-2 (One Family Suburban Residential)" . and substituting therefor the Zone designation "RS~2 (Single Family Res- idential)"; and . By striking out the Zone designation “RS-1 (One Family Residential)" and substituting therefor the Zone designation "RS-1 (Single Family Residential)" Section 2 of By-law No. 1469 be amended by striking out the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918, Amendment By-law, 1976, No. 1469" and substituting therefor the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1977, No. 1498, Amendment By-law, 1977, No. 1469"; AND THAT By-law No. 1469, as amended, be read a third time. That third reading of By-law No. 1470 as given on the Eighteenth day of October, 1976, be rescinded; THAT Section 1 of By-law No. 1470 be amended: 1. By striking out the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1969, No. 918" and substituting therefor the title "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning By-law, 1977, No. 1498";
