Lee Theatre for the Sunday's 50th anniversary celebration of Victory in Europe — VE Day — which signalled the German surrender and the end of World War It on that continent. The party was followed by parade marshall Bud Kirkaldy =~ (below, right), veterans of the conflict and members of the Royal Canadian Legion. At the theatre, the commemoration included an introduction of the veterans, speakers who covered the history of the war and a singalong of many of the tunes associated with that time to the accompaniment of the Community Band and local choirs.
