AND KASSANDRA CLOUTIER is getting ready for his arrival. She and four other girls spent
last Saturday at Wallinda Craft Supplies, learning how to make Benjamina Bunnies. The fin-
ished bunny baskets even come with their own supply of chocolate eggs, but Kassandra
doesn't think the chocolates will make it to Easter.

4-H district winners compete in

Club and the Boots &
Saddles Club held their dis-
trict public speaking compe-
tition on March 4,

Only three people placed
out of four entries from each
group.

For the juniors, first went
to Michael Ansems and sec-
ond to Dayna Siddall, both
of the Shamrock Club. Tit-

Saddle Club placed third..

For the seniors, the Sham-
rocks won again, with first
going to Solveig Adair, and
secand to Danny Ansems.

LAURIE-ANN BAKER, a
Caledonia graduate, now fourth-
year nursing student and presi-
dent of the nursing wadergraduate
society at the University of Leth-

bridge, continues to win honours —

for her academic achievements.

In December last year Baker
was a regional winner in a call
for papers for the Canadian Nurs-
ing Students’ Association
(CNSA) Conference, The prize
included a paid trip to present the
paper at the CNSA’s national
conference in Quebec city in Jan-
uary this year,

Baker also won the CNSA
Leadership Award last Decem-
ber. The award is presented na-
tionally to a student who best ex-
emplifies leadership qualities
both in and out of school.

VOLUNTEERS FOR SENIORS ADVISORY COMMISSION

The City of Terrace is seeking volunteers of all ages to
serve on its Seniors Advisory Commission.

The Commission acts as an advocate for the interests of
seniors in the community and provides recommendations
to Mayor and Council, {t also guides initiatives and projects
designed to improve the quality of life for seniors in Terrace.

The committee meets ten times per year. Terms will run
for two years. For more information, please contact the
