TERRACE — Judith _ O'Keeffe, painter/print- maker and currently the Liaison Officer for the Emily Carr College of Art and Design Outreach Program, will be con- ducting a course in Print- making at Northwest Community College in Terrace from March 1 to April 6, 1986. Twelve hours of in- struction will be given on each of the five week- . and technical ends, assistance will be available at the Outreach Foundation Studio dur- ing the week. This course offers an introduction to print- making and will include the basics of relief, in- : | Printmakin g. - | 7 course offered | taglio, screenprinting and collagraphy. Simple materials and techniques © will be used to execute prints in each medium. Most supplies are in- cluded in the course and studio fees ($136 + $20). The Printmaking course is part of the ECCAD Foundation. Programs begin Shirley Kimery of the Employment Develop- ment Branch in Terrace recently announced the commencement of two federally-funded em- ployment programs. Carpentry training will soon be available for Tahitan Band members in the Dease Lake and Telegraph Creek areas, she said, and added that a similar program will also be instituted for Canyon City. A Section 38 (formerly . EBAP) program will begin soon in Aiyansh, providing 12 weeks of silvicultural work for residents of that com- munity who wish to sup- plement their unemploy- ment insurance benefits. Kimery said that the work will primarily in- volve slashing and juvenile tree spacing.
