Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the request from the Coquitlam and District Safety Council, January 23rd, 1980 for monies to obtain new Block Parent signs for Port Coquitlam's 500 Block Parents, be dented; AND THAT consideration be given to this matter for possible inclusion in the Justice Building or Policing Budgets. Prior to the passage of the foregoing resolution discussion ensued and Alderman Traboulay asked that further study be done on this request as to what was belng done in Port Moody and Coquitlam and that if feasible the purchase of new Block Parent signs be included in the Justice Building Budget. From Syd's Taxi Ltd., January 28th, 1980 advising of their application Syd's Tax to the Motor Carrier Commission for a new tariff, 38/80 yan. Ne ff. Moved by Alderman Ranger: ew Tariff Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That Council concur with Syd's Taxi Led.'s application to the Motor Carrier Commission for a new tariff with the follewing rates effective March 3rd, 1980: Mileage rate from 95 cents for the first 1/8 of a mile and 10 cents for cach additional 1/8 of a mile te: $1.00 for the first 1/10 of a mile and 10 cents for each additisenat 1/10 of a mile. Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution Alderman Mabbett asked that the complaints recently received regarding the slow response of taxis in Port Coquitlam be tranemitted along with the City's letter of reply.
