FROM: LEISURE ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE

RE: SAFETY DAY

The Recreation Department will be having a Water Safety Day on June
27th, 1976 at the Hyde Creek pook. One of the purposes of this day
48 £0 encourage Port Coquitlam nesidents +o bring their safety vests,
Life jackets ete. to be tested at the pook and to instruct them on
correct usage of thein equipment. Further, there will be water
demonstration of safety, as well as displays.

The holiday season is fast coming upon us and through such a display
we hope to educate the public to have a Safe and happy summer holiday
whether it be in their own backyard pool, boating, Swimming in Lakes,
ete. We hope this mill become an annual event.

The Leisure Activities Committee, at this time, wishes to recommend
that June 27th, 1976 be declared Port Coquitlam Water Safety Pay.
