since the fall of. 1969. Lorna and her husband Ken are retiring and moving to White Rock this sum- mer, 80 this is her last role with the | Terrace Little Theatre. _ In The Glass Bottle, Edith and Millie are elderly women who have been together for the past 25 years. In‘ reality, Margaret and Lorna have been friends for 23: years and find it a real advantage in playing their roles. Director Marianne Brorup Weston and Lorna: Morton had discussed working together before Lorna departs Terrace. A solo piece was suggested, but Lorna wanted to work. with another actor and she adds, "I really liked the play. It’s a nice story." When Marianne asked Margaret if she’d like to. play the role of Millie, Margaret says, "I jumped at it. I wanted to work. with Lorna one more time before she left. Lorna’s favourite role to date | was as principal boy in Aladdin when she was 24 years old. In Sailor Beware, she played a batty aunt., She says, "I like the lighter side of life and comedy.” She _ enjoyed many a musical review including solo singing in Salad Days, but she adds, “I. don’t dance." Lorna and Margaret together have "been the camel" for . a musical review done by the Terrace Little Theatre many years ago. Margaret and Lorna joke . about their roles in The Glass. Bottle, "We were typecast.” Margaret jibes at Lorna. "She just . had to be herselfl" Lorna explains, on a more serious note, "I had to think 20 years older, and I had to slow down. I watched things on TV about or’ with ' older : people." Margaret says with a twinkle in her eye, "I: had to think 50. years ahead. I’m-just a youngster.
