Gaetan Hart leaned over
Cleveland Denny’s coffin
Wednesday and returned one
of the things the dead boxer
coveted most — the
Canadian lightweight title
belt.

Hart, of Buckingham,
Que., took the title from
Denny in November, 1977,
and battered him un-
conselous in a’ non-title bout
at Olympic Stadium on June
30, .

The 24-year-old Denny
died Monday morning from
the severe head injuries he
suffered in that fight: His
body will be flown to New
York today and he will be

. buried at Cypress Cemetery

in. Brooklyn on Friday
morning.
Hart, who hesitated about

: attending the funeral service

until assured by the Denny
family he would be welcome,
entered the room about five
minutes before the start of
the service.
