Pynenburg Project Technician SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR TRAFFIC IMPROVEMENTS AT CROSSWALK ON PITT AT YUKON . RECOMMENDATION: 1) That the Bylaw Dept. be instructed to monitor this crosswalk for parking violations in the early am and afternoon when school children are using the crosswalk, That "No Parking" signs be installed on: -the west side of Pitt from the existing crosswalk south approx. 10m, -the west side of Pitt from the existing crosswalk north approx. 40m and, -the east side of Pitt from Yukon to the south property line of 1311 Pitt River Rd., That the standard "XX" with an arrow to wam motorists in advance of the crosswalk be painted on the road on the north and south approaches to the crosswalk on Pitt River Rd. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS A request was made regarding the parking problem at the crosswalk on Pitt River Rd. at Yukon Ave. Cars are parking too close to the crosswalk causing visibility problems for moving vehicles to give right-of-way to pedestrians using this crosswalk. Construction Of Sidewalk A sidewalk has been constructed on the east side of Pitt River Rd. from the existing sidewalk north to Routley. The section from Yukon north to the existing sidewalk will be completed this year. The completion of these sections will result is sidewalk from Yukon to Routley on the east side of Pitt.
