April. 03, 1989/063 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, April 3, 1589, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, G.R. Laking, W.W. Stewart and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer T.M, Chong, and Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting held on March 20th, 1989 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Frank Rayner who addressed Council regarding Removal of Land from the Agricuitural Land Reserve. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: seconded by Alderman Gates: That the request for the removal of land from the Agricultural Land Reserve be referred to the Planing and Zoning Committee for study and report to Council within one month. Carried. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Richard Landel who addressed Council regarding Barnet Highway Improvements. Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the request for Council endorsement to widen Baruet Highway to three lanes be referred to the Public Works Committee for investigation and report. Carried. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced the following people who addressed Council regarding the upgrading of Centennial Pool. Mr. Larry Stephenson, of the Marlin Swim Club who submitted a letter that outlined responses they received from a recent article they placed in a local paper asking residents of Port Coquitlam whether they support the renovation of Centennial Pool.
