A Bylaw to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam JUN 13 1983
Fire Prevention Bylaw, 1968, No. 902", ;

The Municipal Counci! of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam in open
meeting assembled, enacts as follows:

Section 4 of the "City of Port Coquitlam Fire Prevention Bylaw, 1968, No. 902" as
enacted by Bylaw No. 1975 is repealed and the following substituted:

"4... (a) Except as provided in clause (b) of this section it shall be unlawful
for any person at any time to light, ignite, start, or knowingly permit, allow or
cause to be lighted, ignited, or. started, any outdoor fire of any kind

whatsoever.

(b) An Officer may issue a special written permit for open air burning of
brush, stumps, slash and tight materials resulting from the clearing of land. |

i (c) No. person to whom a special written. permit has been issued shall on or
‘In any fire use rubber tires, oil, tar, asphalt, shingles, battery boxes, plastic
materials, or any.:similar materia! which may produce heavy black smoke and any
‘person to whom a special. written permit has been Issued shal! piace a competent
person in charge of such fire at all.times while the..same is burning or
‘smoldering and.shal! provide such. person with effictent appliances and.equi pment
to effectively prevent the same from getting beyond control! or causing damage or
becoming dangerous and such person shal! be kept in charge of such fire at al!
times unti! same is completely extinguished and the granting of a special written
permit shall not absolve the holder thereof from liability for any damage which

may result from.any such fire.'
