Kenney primary school hosts hosts a multicultural potluck lunch for students, parents and special guests. The event starts in the library, where | participants will join hands and sing the school’s song, which says, in part, “It takes a world of differences to make a difference in our world.” Then theyll head into the gym for tra- ditional finger foods from different cul- tures. New pilot project matches interns with paid positions LOCAL HIGH school grads and post secondary students in the Terrace area may be eligible for a new internship program. The Northwest Youth Internship Project will be - matching up workers with companies that find it hard to recruit trained employ- ees. The program will have space for 10 participants between the ages of 19 to 30. technology, administration and trades sectors. - Employers will receive a wage subsidy that could be worth as much as $8 an hour for up to 22 weeks. This pilot project is managed by the Prince Rupert-based Hecate Strait * Employment Development’ Society. It’s open to participants in Terrace, Prince Rupert, or Kitimat.
