That the City of Port Coquitlam co-host the Queen's Tea of the

Winter Wind-up Carnival in the amount of $150.00.

Aldermen Ranger and Keryluk voted in favour of the resolution.

During discussion of the foregoing resolution, it was noted that
the Winter Wind-up Carnival is one of three functions throughout the
year which the City supports:as ‘community functions' and, in this
instance makes a considerable contribution by way of free use of City
facilities for the Carnival. It was generally felt that support of such
a function as the Tea would be against the existing policy regarding
grants or subsidies to organizations within the City, and approval of

same would have to involve a change of policy.
