NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Muldoon referved to a letter from the Port Coquitlam Kinsmen Club regarding placing an ad in their upcomina magazine. Moved by Alderman Muldoon: That the City of Port Coquitlam place a 1/6 page ad in the February, 1983 edition of the Kinsmen's National Magazine to express thanks for the local Kinsmen's. contribution to the ity, at a cost of $150.00. Lost for the want of a seconder. Aiderman Vater referred to the chaJlenge received from the City of Langley regarding a day's pay contribution to the United Way and advised he personally accepts this challenae and challenged the other members of Council. Aldermen Gates requested a report on McLean Parkand Alderman Wright advised McLean Park was in poor condition and that the City crews were putting sand on the field and were unable to complete this job before the weekend. Alderman Wright advised he has requested a report on this and Alderman Gates advised he would like a full report on what happened. Alderman Gates expressed concern regarding the use of his name in Alderman Muldoon's election literature and advised the information regarding the "Broadway Contract" mentioned in the material is not correct. Alderman Muldoon attempted to respond to Alderman Gates! remarks but Mayor Traboulay ruled that there would not. he any debate on the subject and he referred to the All-candidates! meeting being held on November 16th and suggested the subject be discussed at that time. Mayor Traboulay expressed his reqret that he had allowed the original remarks of Alderman Gates to continue earlier.
