THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: Mr. B.R. Kirk DATE: October 19, 1982 City Administrator FROM: Mr. W. Brown Director of Community SUBJECT: McDonald's Restaurant Addition Land Use Contract No.18 RECOMMENDATION: That the Council of the Corporation-of the City of Port Coquitlam inform the Supreme Court of B.C. that they have no objection to a "Drive Through" food pickup being added to the restaurant governed by Land Use Contract No.18 COMMENTS: l. This is the second modification to the Original restaurant approved by the City in 1978. The building change being Tequested is to take advantage of the restaurant's location along Lougheed Highway. 2. The proposed "Drive Through" addition will eliminate seven parking stalls near the party caboose. In as much. as the restaurant has well in excess of the required number of parking stalls, the removal of the stalls are not viewed as a problem (107 stalls are provided while 24 are required by the Zoning Bylaw). 3. Should City Council members wish to view McDonald restaurant's with a similar layout having "Drive Through" Facilities, there are two in Surrey. Similar restaurants can be found at Guildford Mall and along King George Highway beside Surrey Place Mall. 4. In conclusion, it is recommended that City Council inform the Supreme Court that the City does not object to this amendment to the Land Use Contract governing the restaurant property. 2 hay Aunt a Me. ‘ eee) 1 Habe
