‘Carnoustie :Golf Club, May 28/81 re Temporary -Facilities. June Ist, 1981. CORRESPONDENCE: From the Carnoustie Golf Club, May 28th, 1981 regarding the temporary facilities on their site and requesting permission to continue the use of the temporary facilities for one year to complete the architecture and building program of the new facilities. Alderman Keryluk expressed concern regarding the Cemporary facilities and reviewed the background referring to the length of time the temporary facilities have already remained, being oue and a half years. Mayor Laking stated trailers are being used on School and Church sites in the City. Mr. Don Adamson, the Golf Pro at Carnoustie Golf Club was present in the gallery and upon Alderman Traboulay asking for further information Mr. Adamson advised that an architect had been retained and was presently preparing final plans for a new building. Alderman Traboulay referred to a letter from the former City Administrator dated December 19th, 1980 and the Acting-City Administrator read the letter wherein it stated the temporary facilities shouid be. removed by April 30th, 1981. Alderman Gates Suggested giving a three-month extension and Alderman Wright stated there has been lack of communication on Council's part as well as on the Golf Club's part. Alderman Mabbett stated he was in favour of giving the Golf Club a chance to build their new building. Alderman Muldoon stated she was in support of a three-month extension providing the owner gives evidence of good faith during that time of his intention to build a new building. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the City of Port Coquitlam extend permission for temporary facilities to remain on the Carnoustie Golf Club site for three months; THAT the owner, Mr. J, Methven, keep the City informed of his progress toward a permanent building; AND THAT the City reserve che right to order removal of the temporary facilities if not satisfied with the progress. Aldermen Traboulay and Keryluk voted against: the resolution.
