"CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM HIGHWAYS BYLAW, 1984, NO. 2011" SCHEDULE "pn REGULATIONS FOR THE LOCATION OF BOULEVARD CROSSINGS CONVENIENT MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES 1. Crossing shall be laid out such that vehicles which will be using the crossing will be able to do so without going onto the adjacent sidewalk and that movement is not onty possible, but sufficiently convenient that drivers can be expected to stay within the crossing; On major streets, near intersections and in the central business district, movements of vehicles shall be out of and into the curb lane; In other cases movements may be out of and into the ftane next to parking. CLEARANCE FROM ABOVE GROUND UTILITIES, STREET FURNITURE ETC. (See dimension "A" on attached Figure 1) Clearance are measured normal to the edge of the crossing and to the nearest point of the Utility, ete. (for trees, of the trunk); Crossings must be one metre clear of poles, hydrants, boulevard trees, traffic signs, street furniture, etc.; lf required, such items can be moved or removed to give clearance subject to approval of the City Engineer but at the expense of the applicant. SURFACE UTILITIES Valve covers, meter boxes, man holes, ete. may remain within crossings; Monuments may be lowered by a B.C.L.S.- at applicant's expense and covers adjusted; Bench marks may be lowered or moved by City surveyors at applicant's expense; In the event that such items must remain in the crossing, any adjustment or strengthening which is necessary will be at the applicant's expense. CATCH BASINS Gutter type catchbasins may remain in crossings where there is a curb or where there will be an asphalt swale; Curb type catch basins must be moved or rebuilt; ‘ Any changes made to catch basins are at the applicant's expense; Any catch basin left in the crossing condition that the crossing may be tempora by cleaning operations. is il only on the inferrupted rily 2011 1 31
