SUBJECT: Parking on Coquitlam Avenue
Public Works Committee - November 3, i981

RECOMMENDATION:

That "No Parking 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m." signs be
installed on the south side of the 2000 block Coquitlam Avenue.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

Since the construction of the 5Sl-suite apartment block
on the north side of Coquitlam Avenue, the residents of the south
side have had difficulty in finding sufficient parking space for
their visitors. It appears that a number of the residents of the
new apartment block are not bothering with the underground parking
and are instead taking spaces along the street which would other-
wise be available to the south side residents. It was felt that
the prohibition of Parking from 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. would
eliminate some of the Sleepers from the street. The street would
still be available for the residents to use in the evening as long
as they did not stay all night long. ,
