November 24th, 1982 A special meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on November 24th, 1982 at 5:00 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Alderma.; M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, A.K. Muldoon, D.J. Vater, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B.R. Kirk, Director of Community Planning W. Brown, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Deputy Treasurer/Collector J.E. Fraser and Recording Secretary A. Leonard. City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland informed the council. of the Options set out and explained the Bylaw is to be pleced by next Tuesday. a His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mrs. Margaret Gregory who represented the Chamber of Commerce and at that time Mrs. Gregory spoke on behalf of the Businessmen in Port Coquitlam requesting that Council change back to Option D. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding percentrge increase and the variable mill rate which the Government may impose. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Vater: That we stay with Option "C". Defeated. Further discussion ensued with Mr. Maitland pointing out that the residents examine their assessment notices very carefully when they receive them and at that time appeal it if they felt they could not get the amount stated on their notices for their homes. If Council chooses to go with Option "D" Bylaw No. 1928 will have to have three readings tonight. Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Muldoon:
