Dear Sirs; . .

We are writing you to protest your "slight increase" for the business
licence for the year 1973. We are horrified at this increase » which in our
ease is equal to 192%, It has jumped from an annual rate of 378,70 to
$229.33. We realize that the previous rate was low but just to raise costs
without any real justification is rediculous, This is just another step which

causée"inflation,

Why, may I ask, was there no prior notice given by ecuncil that this raise:
was forthcoming, and what guidelines were used to calculate this new rate and
what do wereceive for this money £ I would like to appear before council to
discuss these points at your earliest convenience,
