Eng., City Engineer LAURIER DRAINAGE PUMP STATION (Public Works Conmittes Meeting of August 2, 1994) That Council authorize the following with cegards to the proposed Laurier Pump Station: 1) Reconstruct some of the drainage ditches leading to the Laurier Flood Box and between the Laurier Flood Box and the Dominion Storm Sewer Pump Station in 1994 at an estimated cost of $20,000.00, 2) That the construction of the Laurier Drainage Pump Station, Phase 1 Project be included in the Tentative 1995 Public Works Capital Budget. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: For several years, the Laurier/Devon/Lincoln azeas in Port Coquitlam which are serviced by the Laurier Flood Box have experienced some flooding during the winter. In 1993, Council commissioned Dayton and Knight to study the drainage problems at a cost of $10,000. In the 1994 Budget, Council allocated $120,000 for drainage improvement projects. Dayton & Knight has partially completed the pre-design engineering report in August 1994 (a copy of which is available in the Engineering Office for viewing) which is summarized in Appendix 'A’, The pre-design report will now be completed by doing a preliminary design and sr mate for the new Laurier Drainage Pump Station - all within the original budget of Considering the results of the Dayton and Knight report, it is recommended that $20,000 be used for internal ditch upgrading in 1994 and that the Laurier Drainage Pump Station construction be considered for the 1995 Budget.
