Pedestrian Head and Inductance Loop Installation The traffic signal at the Shaughnessy/McAllister intersection lacks pedestrian heads. Because of relatively high pedestrian volumes, the installation of pedestrian heads will improve the efficiency of turn movements for vehicles, and ensure pedestrians have cleared the intersection at the end of their signal phase. The signal controller at the Shaughnessy/McAllister intersection is capable of fully actuated operation but is Presently set for two phase, fixed~time control. The installation of inductance loops for each direction will reduce delays during off-peak periods, however, capacity during peak Periods will not increase, PPS wh RSs me b. ‘
