THE CORPORATION OF THE CiTY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 U N ae MEMORANDUM JUN 13 1983 B. Kirk, June 08, 1983. City Administrator F.E. Peters., P. Eng., City Engineer SUBJECT: Dust Control Program ~ Public Works Committee, June 07, 1983. RECOMMENDATION: That the attached list of additional areas for the dust control program be approved and that the budget be increased for the Kingsway Avenue flush coating to $5,500.00 with the additional funds to come from the unallocated public works capital budget. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: In discussing the Caicium Lignosulfonate dust contro! program with council previously, it was indicated that we needed to spend a minimum of about $4,000.00 on the program and that we would be providing a list of additional areas to be treated besides the ones which Councl! has already approved. The proposed jist of additional treatment Is Included in the second page of the attached memo from the Pubile Works Foreman to the Works and Utilities Superintendent. This list Includes areas where we have had dust problems in the past and are having them again this year. Council previously approved the sum of $3,000.00 for flush coating of the shoulders on Kingsway Avenue. The previous estimate given to Council! was inaccurate. The attached memo from The Public Works Foreman indicates that the actual cost will be approximately $5,500.00. The work would have to be done by Imperial! Paving since we no longer have the gravel spreading equipment for our own vehicles. é9 TTT roma rte tee PN thd ab eA EN EE Ret tee en ‘ MARL UE SU acaaink pu poe Med ok be
