THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM . C 0 [J N oy MEMORANDUM Ly NOV 9 1981 TO: Bryan Kirk, November 3, 1981 City Administrator FROM: F.E. Peters, City Engineer SUBJECT: Lougheed Highway Access to Best Western Motel -~ Public Works Committee, October 27th, 1981 RECOMMENDATION: That the City write to the Department of Highways supporting a request from the merchants on Lougheed Meridian Road for a right turn only access directly from the Highway. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: The attached copy of the letter from Ron Little explains the need for additional access to the merchants along the Lougheed Meridian Road. Because the only access to these merchants is off oad, by the time drivers from the east realize ; s is they have already passed it and are unable to turn around because of the Highway median. The Public Works Committee did not agree with the other request in the letter for a 50 kilometer speed zone. Such a low speed limit is inappropriate for a highway of this standard. kik F.E.
