Please find attached for your infermation from the Enivranmental Protection Committee Respectfully Submitted. tem T Re: Report on a Visual Inspection of the Area Bounded by Pooley, Taylor, Connaught and Pitt River Road, , Comments: An inspection by the Parks Foreman Mr. Les Crocker and myself was carried out on Tuesday January 18th, 1972 in regards to the proposed subdivisions. We noted that there is an existing water course running east west across the site and then south parallel to our sanitary outfall. This system appears to consist of runoff as well as a small storm coliector system which is usually dry during the summer months because of lower water table. “We note that the existing water course may be diverted by ‘construction of roads systems and storm drainage which would undoubtely lower the water table in that immediate area. The soil content particularly prevalent on the west side of Taylor Street. consists of several inches of over~burdened and disintegrating vegetation below the top soil. There would appear to be approximately three feet of black humus and peat moss material followed by a sand gravel material and hard pan. The tree growth in the area encompasses most varieties found throughout Port Coquitlam: Cedar, Spruce, Hemlock, Fur, Vine Maple, Alder, Birch and Willow. Mr. L. Crocker advised that much of the coniferous tree cover could be saved, provided a tree topping program was carried — out, he suggested the topping of about 1/3 of all coniferous trees continued. ....
