Early Learning Services

The FPFCB-CSF partnership that
has developed over the past

few yearshasrecenily entereda
new phase. The two organizations have
agreed to increase their collaboration
in the early learning services sector
by signing an accord calling for
the FPFCB to draft CSF orientations
affecting the range of early learning
services.

For the current year, priorities identified
in the accord focus on a number of
items:
a Development of new services
a Support for parent-managers
ma Reception and support for
families
= Preparation of a policy to
establish the rules for operating
an early learning service within a
francophone school!
a Promotion of services
a Datacollection

This agreement will permit the FPFCB to
allocatemoreresourcestodevelopment
and support for early learning services
housed in the francophone schools.
The recent hiring of development
officer Marie-Claude Rivard was a
result of this agreement. Marie-Claude
will work closely with our preschool
network coordinator, Michelle Mar-
san. This means that the FPFCB will
henceforth dedicate the equivalent of
1.5 full-time human resources fo early
learning service development and
support.

Cooperation with the CSF will also
permit us fo increase the scope of our
interventions since we will each benefit
from the expertise, resources, and

network of the other organization, for

the greater benefit of all concerned

children, parents, educators, com

munities, and schools.

If is by combining forces through
these types of partnerships that BC
francophonie will be able to fulfill its
aspirations, particularly in terms of
access to high-quality, timely French-

language services.
