Sa Sees Moos GEE Page 3. January §, 1$89 The City of Port Coquitiam We have also witnessed drivers coming down the street who have not yet taken time to wipe off the snow from thelr back windows and these drivers still Insist on backing up two or three times In order to turn thelr vehicies around. At the same time as the vehictes are trying to turn around the children walking to schoo! are then forced to walk right by these vehicles and on a number of occasions the drivers have not seen the children waiking. We write this letter in order to receive approva! (as It Js the only solution we can see to this problem) from the City of Port Coquitlam to install elther one of the following signs, whichever is applicable according to your bylaws: NO U-TURN PERMITTED LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY NO DROP OFF OR PICK UP ALLOWED BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 4:00 P.M. We feel that In the event one of the signs can be posted at the entrance to the street It wiil be much easier to enforce the no drop off and mo pick up on this street and the parents walking with thelr children or, teachers witnessing any cars on this street to drop off or pick up children can then report the Licence plate numbers to the police, who In turn can Issue them 4 ticket. “We have also noticed that the Assumption School located on Fraser Avenue has now received a sign stating "U-Turn at end of Road only” and we write to -Inquire whether that has improved their ‘situation with drop off and pick up by the schoo! grounds. Our situation Is not quite the same as there [IS no large open space at the end of Salisbury Avenue where the vehicles can turn around as they have at the end of Fraser Street.
