A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port
Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy
Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, January 24th, 1994, at 7:30 p m.

Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, W.W.
Stewart, R.H. Talbot, and M.A. Thompson were in attendance.

Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City

Treasurer/Deputy Administrator, J.G.S. Maitland, City Engineer LR. Zahynacz, Director of

Community Planning C. Felip, Director of Parks & Recreation K.J. Taylor and Fire Chief J.

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES:

Moved by Councillor Keryluk:

That the minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of January 17th, 1994 be taken as read
and adopted.

Carried.
PROCLAMATION:

Whereas Parents Without Partners was founded in 1957 in New York City and chartered its
first Canadian Chapter in Hamilton, Ontario in 1962;

Whereas Parents Without Parmers Chapter #722 Coquitlam was chartered on January 26,
1974 and is now celebrating its twentieth anniversary;

Whereas Adults and children ‘in single-parent families face unique and challenging
circumstances;

Whereas Parents Without Partners offers an environment for support, friendship and
exchange of parenting techniques;

And Whereas Parents Without Partners provides single parents and their children
opportunities to enhance personal growth, self-confidence and sensitivity towards others,

Now Therefore I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port
Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of January 24th to 30th, 1994, as
"PARENTS WITHOUT PARTNERS WEEK"

in the City of Port Coquitlam.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
A brief explanation was given from Mr. Ken Olive, #230 - 5200 Alderbridge representing

Municipal Insurance Association of British Columbia regarding the 1994 Rate Increases.
