. hy THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO: Mr. B. R. Kirk June 28,1990 City Administrator File No. 34/90 FROM: Carlos Felip Director of Planning RE: Development Variance Permit District Lots 168 & 169, Plan 85450, NWD. Planning and Development Committee -— July 10, 1990 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that Council pass a resolution authorizing the Planning Department to prepare a Development Variance Permit No. 34/90. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicants are requesting a Development Variance Permit to permit the dedication of a road within 35.5 m of another road. The minimum distance between two tee intersections, under Schedule C, section 4.2.2.1 of the subdivision by-law, is 60 metres. The reason for this request is that the original location for this road, shown on the attached drawing number one, proved impractical due to topographical considerations. COMMENTS FROM THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Engineering Department recommends approval of this application. DISCUSSION: The approving officer has directed the applicants to obtain a Development Variance Permit in order to facilitate the approval of the subdivision plans that will create the road in question. In the opinion of the Engineering Department, the proposed road is at the most appropriate location to connect the Westview and Genstar subdivisions. The road has already been constructed, on a temporary right of way, and approval of the Development Variance Permit will permit the legal dedication of the road. . o 47 Ly fs Carlos Felip, ™ A&xau, M.C.I. .
