Alderman Ranger advised of a request from the Winter Wind-up Carnival Committee that the City co-host a tea for the Queen and her party, and it was agreed that this would be referred to the Leisure Activities Committee for review and report back to Council next week. Alderman Traboulay referred to his request at the previous Council meeting that information be obtained on the number of persons employed at the new McDonald's Drive-in Restaurant, and the City Administrator advised he would have this available next week. ’ Alderman Traboulay advised that at the next meeting of the Lower Mainland Municipal Association to be held in Matsqui on March 9th, 1977, The Honourable Hugh Curtis, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing would be present, and Mayor Campbell suggested that any members of Council wishing to attend the meeting should so inform the City Clerk. Alderman Mabbett referred to a memorandum from the City Administrator, February 11th, 1977 concerning Council's termination by resolution last year of a demolition order on an old building at 2571 Pitt River Road to permit its continued use for storage purposes, and in proposing the following motion, he pointed out that the then deteriorated condition of the building has continued to worsen. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderinan Laking: That staff make the necessary inspections of buildings located on pro- perty at 2571 Pitt River Road and that a report be submitted to Council for consideration recommending whether or not the building should be demolished.
