Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, the following motion was proposed: Moved by Alderman Keryluk: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the foregoing proposed resolution concerning the No Left Turns 4 - 6 p.m. restriction at Shaughnessy and Elgin be referred back to the Public Works Committee for re-examination. Carried. Aldermen Mabbett and Ranger voted against the resolution. At 8:45 p.m. Alderman Traboulay vacated his chair and left the Council Chamber. P/Wks. Comm.re mCity Hall staff parking From the Public Works Committee, November 7th, 1975, concerning the present provision for City Hall staff parking in the immediate vicinity of the City Hall, being 12 stalls on the West side of Donald and 3 stalls West of and adjacent to Donaid during the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p-m., Monday to Friday. Alderman Ranger, in speaking to the report, stated his intention to make a further recommendation that the parking lot located immediately to the South-east of the Shaughnessy Street underpass be also posted for 2- hour parking as complaints have been received that commuters are using that facility for all-day parking, and he then proposed the following motion: Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, November 7th, 1975, the present 15 parking stalls allocated for City staff in the immediate area of the City Hall be changed to 2-hour parking - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and No Parking 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Tabled. Prior to the question being called on the foregoing resolution, Alderman Thompson inquired as to the result of the joint meeting with the employees concerning the provision of parking, and Mayor Campbell advised that no such meeting had as yet taken place. Alderman Thompson stated he felt that as employers, the City should discuss the matter with the Employees’ Committee prior to this benefit being taken away, and to this members of Council generally agreed.
