A By~law to provide for the exemption from taxation of certain land
and improvements owned by the Port Coquitlam Senior Citizens! Housing Society.
WHEREAS the title to Lot 110, District Lot 289, Group One, Plan 40622,
New Westminster District, is registered in the name of the Port Coquitlam
Senior Citizens’ Housing Society; . .
AND WHEREAS the said land and improvements is operated as an institution
licensed under the Community Care Facilities Licensing Act;

AND WHEREAS it is desired Co exempt the said land and improvements

from taxation to the extent set out herein:
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation.of the City of

Port Coquitlam in open meeting assembled, enacts ag follows:

i. The land and improvements known as Lot 110, District Lot 289, Group
One, Plan 40622, New Westminster District, operated by the Port Coquitlam
Senlor Citizens' Housing Society as an institution licensed under the Commmity
Care Facilities Licensing Act is hereby declared to be exempt from taxation to
the extent provided in Section 328 of the Municipal Act for the year 1974,

2. The Assessor of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam shall
make the necessary entries in the 1974 Assessment Roll of the City to give
effect to the terms of this By-law. . .

3. , This By-law may be cited for all purposes as the "Lot 110, District Lot
289, Plan 40622 Port Coquitlam Senior Citizens* Housing Society Exemption from
Taxation By-law, 1973, No. 1269",

NOTE: The above By-law will exempt the Housing Societies Hawthorne Lodge property

from taxation for the year 1974,

An exemption fron taxation was granted for 1973 and.
assage of the above noted By-law will continue the exemption for 1974,

Tils By-law is available for first three readings on September 4th, 1973

Ad it will again be presented to che Council for final reading at the next neeting

© which time it will require an affirmative vote of two-thirds of all the tenbers
