ot by Irene Kuhar : Terrace Contributor TERRACE — The regular pre-competitive season of the Terrace Peaks Gymnastics Club has come to a close. The gymnasts put on a display April 30 for their parents in the gym where the athletes had done conditioning, showed their strength, and skills on each apparatus. Par- ticipants had a very good year of training with their coach Lynn Cooper, Jenny Brady, Kris Fairless and Karen Karu. Peaks compete in championship Gymnast from Terrace Peaks Club recently competed in the Northwest Junior Cham- pionship meet in Kitimat which was hosted by Dynamics Gymnastic Club on April 26 and 27 at Riverlodge Recreation Center. There were two dif- ferent divisional groups competing — division “A? and “Bp”. Girls from division “A” include the top four gymnasts who are elig- ible to go to a B.C. Divi- sional meet in Prince George during the first week of June. These girls are: is Tania Strauss — Age (12 - 13) in Tyros is Shannon Skrabyk — Age 14 - over) in Open is Karen Karu In division ‘‘B’’ com- petitors have also done very well. They all work- ed hard and the results were good. All the gym- nasts came home with something, thanks to their coach Lynn Cooper, and Jenny Brady. In each level there are four categories — midget, argo, tyro, and open. Court In Terrace provincial court on Monday, April 21, Howard Lundrigan was fined $1250 and received a six-month suspension of driving privileges for refusing to provide a breath sample to a peace officer. All the girls worked very hard throughout the year. The club is trying to organize a summer pro- gram for athletes so that they can keep up their strength.
