September 19th, 1977 /5. received from residents on Westminster Avenue North of the lane opposing the opening unless a gate is installed that would close the access to traffic during hours other than from 8:00 a.n. to 5:00 p.m.3; additionally, it was requested that a crosswalk be installed at the Oxford Street- Westminster Avenue intersection for the safety of children attending James Park School. Several of the residents concerned were in attendance and after speak~ ing in support of the requests contained in the petition, members of Couricil generally agreed that further study was required with respect to the lane opening in view of the various points raised, and the follewing motion was proposed: Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by. Alderman Thompson: That the proposal to open the lane North of Kern Chevrolet off Oxford Street as requested in a letter from that finn dated August 18th, 1977 and submitted with a report from the Public Works Committee, September 16th, 1977, be referred back to that Committee for further study. Sept.16/77 re a letter dated August 26th, 1977 that was received from the Anglia-Norco Anglia-Norco Bike Race Bicycle Club concerning the annual Port Coquitlam Bicycle Race sponsored by that organization. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That as recommended in a report from the Public Works Committee, September 16th, 1977, the Anglia-Norco Bicycle Club be granted permission to hold its annual Port Coquitlam Bicycle Race on September 25th, 1977 according to the scheduled times and course outlined in a letter dated August 26th, 1977 from that organization; AND THAT the Coquitlam Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police be so notifted.
