THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM Janna Taylor DATE: August 27, 1993 Director of Parks & Recreation Francis K.K. Cheung, EIT FILE NO: Project No. 766 Project Engineer SUBJECT: NEW CITY DUMP SITES The current City dump sites at Chester and Welcher are nearly full. This is in part due to the large quantity of excavated earth, from the construction of the new Works Yard, being dumped into these sites. The City will now require to locate a new City dump site to dump its materials. The materials that are being dumped into the existing dump sites are non-toxic and non-pollutant to the environment. Typically, they consist of clean fills, organic materials, construction materiais, used asphait and concrete. [ am inquiring the possibility of using Riverwood Lagoon as the new City dump site and raise the lagoon by 2 metres. I would like to discuss what is the Parks and Recreation Department's future plan is on Riverwood Lagoon. If possible, can we discuss this matter at your earliest convenience. Lh. Francis K.K.
