June 27, 1988/157 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the “Campbell Room", Best Western Poco Motor Inn, 1545 Lougheed Highway, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, June 27th, 1988, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.C. Farnworth, J.J. Keryluk, W.W. Stewart, G.R. Laking, and R.H. Talbot in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk/Deputy City Administrator R.A. Freeman, City Engineer T.M. Chong, Director of Community Planning W.A. Brown, Parks and Recreation Director K.J. Taylor and Secretary S$. Rauh. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: seconded by Alderman Stewart: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Meeting held on June 13th, 1988 , be taken as read and adopted; Carried. DELEGATION: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Ms. Barbara Krahenbil who addressed Council regarding problems experienced on Coquitlam Avenue with vandalism, speeding, impaired persons and excessive noise, Along with a request for speedbumps in the rear lane, and new abutments for those that have been destroyed. Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That problems on Coquitlam Avenue and the back lane near Friscos Beer and Wine store be referred to the Public Works Committee for consideration, Carried. His Worship Mayor LL.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. R. Bitcon, of the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Coquitlam Branch #113 who presented a report to Council regarding Application for Relaxation of Taxation on Land and Improvements and verbally gave a general outline on this report. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the application for relaxation of taxation on Land and Improvements from the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Coquitlam Branch #113 be referred to the Administration Committee for further study and report. .
