THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM C 0 U \ C | L MEMORANDUM APR 3 1978 TO: Mayor and Council March 30th, 1978 FROM: Planning and Zoning Committee RE: R # 28/76 - Proposed Rezoning from RS-2 to RS~1 for a 36 Lot Subdivision on Cedar Drive Council will recall that upon receiving a report on the public infor- mation meeting on the subject development at the December 12th, 1977, Council meeting; Council referred this item to the Planning and Zoning Committee for further review and recommendation. The properties in question are the only area undeveloped east of Cedar Drive. The proposed subdivision, if approved, will correct part or all of the existing drainage problem in the general area. The Committee, after having reviewed the proposal carefully, is of the opinion that it would not generate any undesirable effects relating to traffic and school accommodations. The Committee also feels that, based on the current declining housing market, the opening up of more building lots does not necessarily speed up housing development significantly.
