December 16th, 1974 That as recommended in a report from the City Administrator, December 13th, 1974, the District of Coquitlam be requested to share the anticipated revenue from leasing a portion of the Justice Building to the Provincial Court on the basis of the contributions made by each municipality to the capital cost of the building. Carried. The City Administrator, in his report, advised that in addition to City Adm.re disposal of law library at Justice Bldg. to Prov Gov't. the foregoing, the Municipal Manager of the District of Coquitlam had asked him to obtain approval for disposal te the Provincial Government of a small law library which formed a part of the assets on hand when the Provincial Court took over the operation of a portion of the Justice Building, and that an appraisal indicates the value of the law library to be $1700.00. A discussion ensued, and Alderman Thompson inquired whether it would not be wise for the City to purchase the law library, and Alderman Keryluk pointed out thac while he thought the suggestion was excellent, he had no idea of where the law library could be stored for the next couple of years until there is a proper facility to house it. The City Administrator commented that it is not only the initial cost of the law library to be considered, but the fect that it has to be added to annually to keep it up to date. Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the issue of whether or not the City should purchase a small law library, being a part of the assets on hand when the Provincial Court took over the operation of a portion of the Justice Building, and appraised at $1,700.00, be tabled pending clarification of its value as an addition to the Port Coquitlam library.
