5. Youth Opportunity Grant Project:
He. Griffith edvised of his discussion with Mr. Gowans, Principal of Port Coquitlam Secondary School

'- regarding a keereation Survey. The High School has agreed to apply for a Youth Opportunity Grant, The Cornittee

asked that they be kept informed of the progress.

6 Tree fonation and Planting:

A letter from irs. P. Singbetl wus read regarding the donation of trees tro the City. She has been

offered trees and money in aid of the City beautification programe, Mr. Borch advised that the subject of tree

planting and City beautification has already been discussed by Alderman F.A. Meyer of the Environmental sub-

; ‘Committee. ile also advised that the trees are really a very small part of the expense and While the gesture of

donating trees is ‘appreciated, the Committee will have to work out the detaile, since it will be the responsibility

of the City to maintain these planted areas, Mr. Borch suggested that people could start with thoir om private

/ property aince the Mary 411 area espactally is in need of greenery and he vill check tha By-laws regarding the

‘Testrictions, - Mrs. Singbet1 pointed out that many people were not informed on the pertinent By-law.
