1 _ president More than sixty staff members and members of the ‘Board turned out on Tuesday, November 9 for an appreciation night marking the retirement of the Co-op's first President, Fred Thomas. Fred, whois publicity shy, had to be tricked’ into coming out for the party. In fact he was sitting at home awaiting visitors when he got an emergency phone call rom the co-op to came aut and fix the elevator which had stopped between floors. When he arrived, Corbin King, Jack Atkins and President Sandy Sandhals corraled him and marched him to the head table ‘from whence there was no escape. . Following that stint he sent his wife and two children out by boat while he walked out to Telegraph Creek where he took a boat to Terrace.
