en elle une insatiable soif de justice. Une

quéte qui se poursuit jusque dans son

plus récent corpus d’oeuvres, Proverbiart,

ou l’ame africaine, dans tous ses motifs et

couleurs, cétoie le verbe dénonciateur
@ injustice sociale et de barbarie. Ayant émigré au Maroc puis aux Etats-Unis,
est au Fashion Institute of Technology de New-York que lartiste décroche son

baccalauréat en beaux-arts. Ayant exposé 4 Montréal, aux Etats-Unis et en
Europe, elle nous présente sa quinziéme exposition individuelle.

Born in Haiti, Marie-Denise Douyon carries an insatiable quest for justice
through her most recent artwork, Proverbiart. A collection where the rich
colours of African soul meet the verbal denunciation of social barbarity. After
immigrating to Morocco and to the States, she graduated with honors from the
Fashion Institute of Technology of New-York. She has performed in Montreal,
the United States and in Europe, and is now presenting her fifteenth solo work.

Une succulente comédie qui relate les péripéties d’une fillette camerounaise
transformée en jeune homme albinos. Bekolo a accouché d’un remarquable
premier long-métrage qui lui a valu le Prix Afrique en Création au Festival de
Film de Cannes en 1992.

A comedy about a young Cameroonian schoolgirl who is turned into an albi-
no man. Bekolo achieves a delightful first feature film which was awarded the

Prix Afrique en Création at the 1992 Cannes Film Festival.
