September 18th, 1973. Alderman Ranger advised that during his attendance the previous evening at one of the several Public Information Neetings conducted by the Greater Vancouver Regional Dicerice concerning certain areas in member municipalities proposed to be classed as Agricultural Land Reserves under the Land Commission Act, he had brought to the attention of the Chairman. the fact. that those properties which are exempt by reason of the si ve thereof being less than two acres are not indicated on the various ‘maps provided, and he suggested that this should be done. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thampson: That. colour-coded maps be prepared indicating those properties in the City which are exempt from the Land Commission Act Agricultural Lar? Reserves by rea- son of the size thereof being less. than two acres. Carried, Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the Greater Vancouver Regional District be requested to amend its maps to indicate which parcels are exempt from the Land Commission Act Agricultural Land Reserves by reason of the size thereot being less than two acras. Ac ting-Mayer Alderman Meyer advised concerning the proposed Agricultural Land Reserves that: (a) the formal Public Hearing \ will be held in the Municipality of Delta an September : 26th, 1973; (b) all persons wishing to be heard must give notice, and small cards are avail- able to the public for that purpose at the City Hall. Additionally, the Acting-Mayor advised that if any persons require further information. on that subject, Alderman P.F. Ranger, Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Committee, or other Aldermen, would be very pleased to render assistance Acting-Mayor Alderman Meyer referred to the Convention of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities held in Prince George last weex, stating that it had been a very hard-working convention and that he was very pleased to have the two resolutions initiated by the Environmental Protection Sub-Committee, of which ° he is the Chairman, - ene regardi ing Fleod Control and the. other Pollution Fines - that were unanimously endorsed by this Council and the Lower Mainland Municipal Association, passed at the Convention. | In referring to the Wellington Street drainage project, which has been a top- ic for discussion at a number of Council meetings, the Acting-Mayor suggested that the Administratioa investigate the feasibility of undertaking this as a total package and repert back to Council at the next meeting.
