A vegular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on December 14th, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, A.K. Muldoon, D.J. Vater and M.R. Wright in attendance. Algo in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B. Kirk, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Director of Planning W. Brown and Recording Secretary D. Vyse. ZONING PUBLIC HEARING: His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay advised the following proposed bylaw to amend the "City of Port Coquitlam Zoning Bylaw, 1979, No. 1651" would now be considered. Bylaw No. 1848: To rezone Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block 2, District Lot 289, Group One, Plan 2396, New Westminster District; Lots 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, Block 5, District Lot 289, Group One, Plan 2396, New Westminster District; Parcel "A" (Bylaw Plan 62823), District Lot 289, Group One, Plan 2396, New Westminster District; from RS-1 to RM~3. This pronerty is located at the southwest corner of Pitt River Road and Shaughnessy Street and it Js expected that a 25-unit townhouse complex will be constructed on the property following completion of the rezoning procedures. A previous Public Hearing with respect to this property was held on August 24th, 1981 and this second Public Hearing is being held due to a change in the nature of the development proposed, including ar Zncrease in the number of units from 21 to 25. The City Administrator advised receipt of a petition, dated November 18th, 1981, containing 100 signatures of people who opposed the proposed development. Mr. F. Nick, property owner of 2337 Lobb Avenue, advised the petition had an additional. 6 signatures bringing the number to 106 opposing the proposed development and stated in his opinion the parking Is inadequate and the proposed development would bring down property values around ft.
