The Automotive Retailers Association would Like to thank you {or

Further to the whole question of Self-Serve gas stations being
aklLowed in Port Coquitlam, the Automotive Retailers Association 4
already on record as being opposed to then because of the destruction
0% conventional stations with Loss of the "small businessman's" Livelthood,
displacement of employees and the non-benefit to the Consumer with price
Aneneases that follow, as in all parts of B.C.

We checked with Canada Manpower, U.T.C. and Sociat Assistance officials
and were told, this month, that over 350 Automotive Mechanics are currently
receiving U.I.C. benefits and cannot be placed. No exact figure uns
supplied by the Social Assistance people as occupation information 48 only
recorded at individual offices, "but that there are Lots of Service Station
front-end people collecting benefits and they cannot be placed in their
former Line of work".
