When the group arrived in Terrace, said Ryan, they played in advance at the Legion. ‘‘It was very much enjoyed by all who were there. Their music is excellent.’’ Ryan said that he felt is was good for the children, who are play- ing a musical instrument, to see live what a great band is all about. By this I mean seeing the band instruments played pro- perly, he noted. Ryan said he hoped the event had encouraged some to pick up careers in instru- ment playing. Ryan add- ed that he thought it was super that the band was making themselves available to various non- profit organizations. The group travels a good five to six months out of the year. . . Ryan was involved with the band for 22 years. It felt good to see his friends again, since he left the band some 12 years ago. ‘‘I left partial- ly to come to work in Terrace and I also wanted summer at home, as the band does travel extensively.’’ Ryan said that he does miss performing occa- sionally.
